Divine Brown Collaborates With Mento Band - The Jolly Boys
September 20, 2011
Canadian based, award winning r&b singer, Divine Brown, is once again showcasing her undeniable love for Jamaican music; This time with a hot new collaboration entitled "Don't You Love Me Baby", alongside world renowned Mento band, The Jolly Boys.
The new single, recorded earlier this year at Geejam Studios in Portland, Jamaica, is a stunning remake of the 1982 classic, originally sung by English new wave band, Human League. Brown, who is featured on the second verse of the track, explained in a recent interview how the synergy came about. "Well I was in Jamaica earlier this year working on a number of reggae tracks at Geejam Studios and they basically introduced me to this cool band [The Jolly Boys] and asked me if I would be interested in collaborating with them. I agreed and as they say the rest is history".
Produced by Dale 'Dizzle' Virgo 'Don't You Love Me Baby' is one of several tracks Brown is currently promoting ahead of her, soon to be released, album entitled 'Something Fresh'. At the moment my brand new 4 track Reggae Sampler is out and it features new music such as 'Melody Of My Heart', 'Something Fresh' and 'Sitting & Watching', which is a tribute I did in honor of the 'Crown Prince Of Reggae', Dennis Brown".
The free promotional sample which is now being distributed to radio stations island-wide is designed to rekindling the spark of 2005 when Brown treated her fans to the reggae remix of the mega hit single 'Old Skool Love'.
Represented throughout the Caribbean, Latin America and Europe by bookings and promotions firm - Xklusiv Entertainment, Brown is definitely one to look out for this Christmas season.
