Ne-Yo Meets 'Ramping Shop'
August 8, 2011
Ne-Yo, CEO of the newly-launched Caribbean record label, Compound Island, staged his own party in Negril and one of the events, dubbed 'Ne-yo and Friends', was held at the Jungle nightclub, Negril, on Saturday night. There, Ne-Yo incorporated a number of his Jamaican industry friends, including dancehall diva, Spice.
When Ne-Yo called Spice to the stage she immediately launched into an energetic rendition of "Ramping Shop", telling audiences she was about to teach Ne-Yo how to dance with Jamaican women. Much to the astonishment of the audiences, Spice turned her back to Ne-Yo, braced into him and tic-tocked for a portion of the song. The crowd erupted into a frenzy of cheers. Spice then went on to perform her recent single "Fun", which features platinum-selling international artiste, Missy Elliott and closed her entertainment set with yet another hit, "Jim Screechie".
According to Spice, "The entire weekend was a lot of fun. I have to commend Ne-Yo on what he's trying to do for Jamaica and Caribbean artistes. It was a great vibe and people can stayed tuned because there is a lot more to come."
Spice is currently gearing up for her birthday beach party coming up next week Saturday, August 13 at the Waves Beach, Portmore, St. Catherine, which is rumored to be a special treat for her fans.
