The Jackson Legacy Continued...

A year later since the world said goodbye to the King of Pop, yet his death is still riddled with speculation and controversy. Recently visiting the Forest Lawn Cemetery in Glendale, California, where Michael was interned, Janet paid her respects, dressed in black, united with brothers Randy, Tito and Jermaine. Whilst mother, Katherine, unveiled a marble memorial in their home town Gary, Indiana.
What better way to pay homage to the Jackson legacy than to continue it. Janet has been doing just that. No doubt when we see any of the Jackson’s performing, its hard not to experience some nostalgia for Michael, through their professionalism, larger-than-life shows and genetic characteristics. Often seen as a mere shadow of Michael, 44 year old Janet is a star on her own merits and continues to affirm her stance as an iconic figure, blazing a unique trail. She has also embraced the spirit of Michael through the sentiments - the show must go on.
In spite of weight gain for the sequel - "Why Did We Get Married Too", which earned $30.1 million at the box office on it's opening weekend, Janet quickly lost the weight and threw herself even deeper into work with a jaw-dropping performance at the 2010 Essence Music Festival. More recently emerging with a new album release, her first since "Discipline", 2008, which received poor reviews for a star of her caliber. Fans can anticipate her help book entitled True You, due later this year. This will be followed by her appearance in another Tyler Perry production, a drama entitled "For Colored Girls Who Have Considered Suicide When the Rainbow Is Enuf", due for release January, 2011. |
