Marketing & Sales Practitioner

Location - Jamaica

Responsibilities:

• Liaising with customers to develop an understanding of their requirements, communicating this information to technical experts and management to aid new product/service development.
• Up-dating industry knowledge and scouting the competition.
• Writing and proofing advertisements and brochures.
• Creating reports, proposals and presenting them. 
• Helping to allocate the marketing budget.
• Identify advertising /sponsorship sales opportunities in Caribbean Market.
• Initiate and follow through sale leads.

Required:

• Bachelors degree in the field of marketing or business preferred, but not required.
• Must have knowledge of corporate Jamaica and the wider Caribbean.
• Ability to work independently and as a team player.
• Skilled at meeting tight deadlines and juggling multiple tasks.
• Demonstrated ability at developing and maintaining contacts.
• Willingness to travel several times a year.
• Strong research, organizational, and communication skill.
• 1-3 years previous sales experience
• Excellent communication skills (oral and written)

Journalists

Location - International (various)

Responsibilities:

• Develop web content
• Conceptualize, write and develop articles for broad audience consumption.
• Identify relevant content and spearhead efforts to implement them.
• Development of professional, accurate & timely content.
• Outstanding writing, editing, and grammar skills, with a commitment to accuracy; tone, and consistency in language that supports the brand.
• Strong interviewing skills and the ability to elicit key information is essential.
• Provide input into keeping organizational editorial style guide up-to-date.

Required:

• Bachelors degree required, journalism, English or other communication related degree preferred.
• Experience with Microsoft Office and Internet.
• Strong editing, proofreading, and writing skills.
• Ability to work independently and as a team player; Ability to work in a fast-paced environment.
• Proven ability to identify timely, compelling topics for wide ranging audiences.
• Skilled at meeting tight deadlines and juggling multiple tasks.
• Solid understanding of the fundamentals and ethics of writing.
• Demonstrated ability at developing and maintaining contacts.
• Strong understanding of AP style and basic grammar and punctuation.
• Willingness to travel several times a year.
• Ability to work well in a highly collaborative, creative, fast-paced environment.
• Strong research, organizational, and communication skill.
• Attention to detail.
• Ability to work well under pressure to tight deadlines.

Production Editor

Location - Jamaica
 
Responsibilities:

• Will join editorial team in reviewing material for accuracy, readability, grammar, consistency and adherence to project specifications.
• Must be detail oriented and able to proofread a variety of materials in a timely manner.
• Check all stages of page proofs for accuracy and to ensure all corrections are made.
• Work closely with content editors, artists and designers, to ensure that project specifications and goals are implemented.
• Work as a team player to meet all intermediate and final schedules.  

Required:

• Bachelor's degree required, preferably in English, journalism, or a related field.
• Must have strong proficiency in grammar, spelling, and writing skills.
• Must have professional proofreading experience.
• Strong understanding of AP style and basic grammar and punctuation are necessary.
• Must have excellent time management, organizational, and project management skills.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office products, Quark Express and Web Design software such as Dreamweaver, Frontpage or equivalent are highly desirable.
• Must be able to work in a team environment.
• Previous experience in the publishing industry would be an advantage.
